December 14 and 15 are two meaningful dates for the ALSA BUHAY learners as this is the much-awaited moment where all their fruits of labor will take place. After more than a month of working as a unit for one mission, learners from two centers were able to raise enough funds for their Christmas Charity Event.
Learners are engaged in various livelihood activities that help them spread their special intentions. These livelihood activities produced the following products: Graham ball and cake, pastillas, peanut butter, rugs and doormats, dishwashing liquid, and yema candies. Parola center raised P6091.00 while P10,080.00 for Payatas center for a total of P16,171.00 to be used as their funds for this event.
On the 14th of December, Parola staff and learners gathered their thirty (30) homeless and needy beneficiaries at Multi-Purpose Hall of Our Lady of Peace and Good Voyage Parish in Delpan. Each beneficiary was able to get grocery items and giveaways. To add more fun, games and presentations were also part of the program that indeed enjoyed by them.
On the following day, Payatas staff and learners continued spreading happiness to Payatas community. Twenty one (21) selected beneficiaries received gift packs and grocery items from the learners. In order to make it more special, each group went over to the house of their beneficiaries and serenaded them with various Christmas songs.
This event only attest that anyone can touch the lives of the other people even in simple yet meaningful way. May this season inspires more youth to be the channel of blessings to the other regardless of their social status or circumstances in life.
