DepEd ALS Manila Immersion

The Department of Education - National Capital Region (DepEd-NCR) through the Curriculum and Learning Management Division (CLMD) conducted a Regional Training on series of Capability Building Programs and Skills on Flexible Learning Options (FLO) for Mobile Teachers, District ALS Coordinators, Instructional Managers, Service Providers and Implementers of Alternative Learning System. The training focused with the theme: “Bridging the challenges in Inclusive K to 12 Education through Alternative Flexible Learning Options” last June 19 – 23, and June 24 – July 3 2017 for Community Immersion.

 

The training was divided into 2 clusters; first, Basic Training Course on the Organization and implementation of ALS for New Instructional Manager and second, the Capability Program and Skills System ALS for the supervisors , specialist, leaders, providers, stake holders , partners, seasoned mobile teachers and Instructional Managers.

In line with this seminar, Puso Sa Puso Edukasyon, Inc. - ALSA BUHAY Program was chosen to be one of the community learning center were the immersion held. It happened last June 29, 2017 at around 9:00 am in the morning. It was headed by   Ms. Mylene U. Rizaldo, Education Program Specialist and Mrs. Aquilina Tiama Public School District Supervisor together with other six DepEd and NGO personnel. They observed the class discussion and asked samples of forms, and reports use in the implementation of the program. They also interviewed Sr Frances Mangabat, SDS, ALSA BUHAY Program Coordinator and Sr. Mila Singap, FLP, Parola Supervisor for the same matter.

They visited both ALSA BUHAY Learning Center (Container van) where the Basic Literacy program and Elementary class held. They were impressed in the idea of having Peer facilitators who help the Instructional Manager in facilitating the class of the BLP. Livelihood center were also visited where the secondary learners have their class.

At the end of immersion, Mrs. Aquilina Tiama, PSDS motivates the learners to keep on their study and valued the free education given by the institution. They also extended their gratitude to the staff of ALSA BUHAY and to the people at the back of Puso Sa Puso for being their partner in the implementation of ALS.
